Position Summary
Rexford Clinics is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with movement, mobility, pain, and functional limitations resulting from injury, surgery, illness, or developmental conditions. The PT designs and delivers individualized, evidence-based plans of care that restore movement, reduce pain, and help patients return to the activities they value.
Key Responsibilities — Core
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations; establish a diagnosis, prognosis, and individualized plan of care.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, modalities, and functional training.
- Set measurable goals; monitor and progress plans of care based on patient response.
- Document evaluations, daily treatment, progress, and discharge summaries accurately and on time.
- Educate patients and caregivers; prescribe and progress home exercise programs.
- Supervise and direct Physical Therapist Assistants, aides, and students as assigned.
- Collaborate with referring providers and the interdisciplinary team; ensure compliance with Florida standards, HIPAA, and payer requirements.
Key Responsibilities — Pediatric
- Evaluate and treat gross motor delays, coordination and balance deficits, tone and neuromuscular conditions, gait, and developmental milestones.
- Use play-based, family-centered approaches; coach caregivers and coordinate with schools/early intervention.
Key Responsibilities — Adult / Outpatient
- Evaluate and treat orthopedic, post-surgical, sports, neurological, and chronic pain conditions.
- Provide manual therapy, progressive exercise, and functional/return-to-activity or return-to-work programming.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- Passing score on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and the Florida Laws and Rules examination.
- Active Florida Physical Therapist license (Florida Board of Physical Therapy Practice) — or eligibility to obtain prior to start. New graduates may practice on a temporary permit under a licensed PT pending examination results.
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or obtained prior to patient contact).
- Ability to pass a Level 2 (fingerprint) background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the applicable setting (pediatric or outpatient orthopedic/sports).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OCS, SCS, manual therapy, dry needling per Florida rules, pediatric NDT).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus; EMR experience.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Therapy roles at Rexford Clinics are active, hands-on positions. Employees can expect to: stand and walk for extended periods; frequently kneel, crouch, sit on the floor (pediatric settings), bend, and reach; lift, transfer, and physically assist or guard patients (occasionally up to 50 lbs, and more with assistance or equipment); demonstrate exercises and provide manual/tactile cueing; and maintain accurate documentation on a computer. Work is performed in a clinic, gym, or home/community setting and may involve exposure to typical healthcare environments.
