We keep the process clear and low-pressure from the very first conversation. Most owners are surprised by how straightforward it is, and by how much control they keep at every stage. Here is what to expect.
1. Confidential conversation. It starts with a private, business-only discussion to understand your practice and what you are hoping to accomplish. We will talk about your clinic, your team, your reasons for considering a sale, and your ideal timeline and role going forward. There is no obligation, no pressure, and complete discretion. Nothing is shared with your staff, patients, or competitors. This first conversation is simply about getting to know each other and seeing whether there is a fit.
2. Information and review. If we both want to continue, we will sign a mutual confidentiality agreement and ask for a focused set of information about the practice, such as a summary of services, staffing, patient volume, payer mix, and basic financials. We keep this stage as light as possible and work around your schedule. The goal is to understand the practice well enough to value it fairly, not to bury you in paperwork.
3. Valuation and offer. Using that information, we develop a fair, transparent valuation and walk you through exactly how we arrived at it. We then present a clear, written offer. We are happy to explain every component and answer any question. There are no games and no pressure tactics. If the numbers do not work for you, you are free to walk away, no hard feelings.
4. Terms and structure. Once the headline terms are agreed, we structure the deal around what matters most to you. That includes your preferred timeline, your role after the sale (a clean exit, an ongoing clinical or leadership role, or a gradual transition), what happens with your team and your lease, and how and when you are paid. We aim for terms that are fair, clear, and built for a lasting partnership rather than a quick flip.
5. Diligence and closing. We complete a focused, professional diligence process and finalize the legal and financial details with the help of both parties’ advisors. We move efficiently and communicate clearly throughout, so you are never left wondering where things stand. Most transactions close on a reasonable, predictable timeline.
6. Smooth transition. After closing, we handle the transition with care. We protect continuity for your patients and staff, introduce our operational support thoughtfully and gradually, and make sure the day-to-day experience inside the clinic stays steady. Our priority is that patients keep seeing the therapists they trust and that your team feels supported, not disrupted.
Throughout every stage, you work directly with our principals, not a layer of intermediaries or analysts. Your inquiry and every conversation that follows are held in strict confidence.
